This online course is intended as an introduction to studies in aesthetics. Both historical and contemporary philosophical texts discussing main problems and ideas in aesthetics will be introduced as well as some basic discussion with presented texts. The aim of the course is to fill the gaps that students who are interested in problems of evaluation and philosophical understanding of art, nature and beauty may have in that area. We will proceed from basic ideas and problems, through some persistent questions to the most influential and popular categories in aesthetics. Discussed texts will come mostly from analytic aesthetic writers with few exceptions. The course is intended for students with minimum knowledge in aesthetics and students with basic knowledge in aesthetics, who have taken a course in aesthetics previously.
