The content of this course is designed specifically for MBA students in order to introduce them to the legal framework that should be taken into consideration during the formation of day to day business strategies in the European Internal Market. The primary part of the course will cover key issues usually referred to as the Business Law of the Internal Market, in other words, EU rules that govern the functioning of the Internal Market. These include: the 4 economic freedoms of the Internal Market (free movement of goods, services, capital and persons); EU competition law sensu stricte (abuse of a dominant market position, anticompetitive multilateral market practices such as cartels, potentially anticompetitive mergers & acquisitions); and EU rules relating to the provision & financing of public services (so called services of general economic interest, SGEI) and state aid legislation.
