This is the MBA course in financial management primarily intended for executives with little, if any, previous familiarity with the firm and its problems. An elementary knowledge of accounting, statistics, and microeconomics is helpful. It is designed to provide a broad exposure to financial principles and the techniques of financial analysis. Students intending a concentration in finance should view this course as a first course in corporate finance and an introduction to investments, banking, and international finance. Students planning a concentration in other areas will gain an appreciation for the breadth and depth of the finance function.

Specific objectives are: ability to solve the problem of company’s financing, its capital budgeting, and its payout policy.
